The Idaho Office of Consumer and Family Affairs (OCAFA) is a program working towards advocacy, education, and dissemination of resources for mental health. We build partnerships with mental health consumers, families, communities, and providers for the purpose of improving behavioral health service delivery, planning, implementation and assessment, and to promote recovery and wellness in Idaho. The OCAFA performs a variety of outreach activities that inform and educate consumers and their family members, providers, and all Idahoans regarding the concerns of those living with a mental health diagnosis. The role of the OCAFA is to promote mental health and support recovery-oriented practices in the state of Idaho. We recognize that lived experience with mental illness provides a crucial source of insight that is of value and must be respected.
